MDMA Supply Charge Withdrawn, Good Behaviour Bond for Drug Possession!

 

Police observed our client exiting a building with an electronic monitoring bracelet on his ankle. Police followed our client and approached him. Police questioned our client and searched his backpack.

Within the bag, police located a large amount of pills. At this stage our client was directed to get on the ground and was arrested, handcuffed and cautioned.

Police continued their search and located vials of liquids, and an amount of white powder.

Our client was conveyed to Newcastle Police Station and charged with the:

3 counts of Possess Prohibited Drug under Section 10(1) of the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985 and two counts of Supply a Prohibited Drug under section 25(1) of the Drug Misuse and Tracking Act 1985.

The Maximum penalty for Possess a Prohibited Drug is imprisonment for 2 years and a fine of $2200.

The Maximum penalty for Supply a Prohibited Drug is imprisonment for 15 years and a fine of $220000.

Our client was in serious risk of facing a lengthy time in prison.
