Great Result! Apprehended Domestic Violence Order Withdrawn

argumentOur client’s partner called the police against our client.

It was alleged that our client had made threats to the complainant.

Police arrived at our clients premises and imposed an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) against our client.

An AVO relates to the protection of a person/s where a domestic relationship exists between the parties.

The AVO was imposed for a period of 2 years and the maximum penalty for breaching the conditions of the AVO are a fine of up to $5,500 or imprisonment for two years.

Worried how this will impact her employment, our client contacted Oxford Lawyers and retained Criminal Defence Lawyer Mr Zahir Zakaria.

Mr Zakaria appeared at Fairfield Local Court and convinced police prosecution prior to the commencement of the hearing to withdraw the AVO.

This was an excellent result for our client as she was able to maintain a clear criminal record.
