Our client along with a group of people exited a shopping complex and walked across to the car park towards their respective vehicles. While walking to their respective vehicles, our client has stopped and turned to an unknown male. A verbal argument commences and this leads to physical altercation taking place. Our client joined in the altercation and began to punch one of the males numerous times.
Our client then drove his car and left the premises. Shortly thereafter, police attended our clients residence and he was conveyed to Parramatta Police Station where he was arrested and charged with Affray under Section 93c (1) of the Crimes Act 1900. The maximum penalty for this offence is 10 years imprisonment!
Our client wisely contacted the Oxford Lawyers Parramatta Office and retained Principal Solicitor and Accredited Criminal Law Specialist Mr Zemarai Khatiz.
Mr Khatiz prepared for our clients matter and attended Downing Centre Local Court where he made strong submissions in favour of our client.
The Magistrate was convinced and our client was not convicted for the charge! Our client received a good behaviour bond by way of a Conditional Release Order without Conviction!
