Charge Dismissed For Stalk and Intimidation of Partner

Charge Dismissed For Stalk and Intimidation of PartnerOne evening our client was arrested by the police and taken from his home after having an argument with his partner.

Our client was charged by the Parramatta police for stalk and intimidation under section 13 of the Crimes (Domestic and Personal Violence) Act 2007. He faced heavy fines of up to $5,500 and up to 5 years imprisonment if found guilty.

Thankfully, he chose to contact Oxford Lawyers and retained Mr Zemarai Khatiz, Principal Solicitor and Accredited Criminal Law Specialist. Mr Khatiz worked tirelessly on the evidence available, and took the matter to Defended Hearing at Parramatta Local Court.

During the hearing Mr Khatiz was able to pick apart the evidence and expose key issues in the prosecution’s case. Mr Khatiz was so effective in the court room that the complainant admitted that what she had originally said was untrue. The Magistrate  at Parramatta Local Court was inclined to agree with Mr Khatiz’s submissions and dismissed the charge.

After what was an incredibly difficult experience for our client, they were able to walk away from the court extremely satisfied with the result. The result secured by Mr Khatiz allowed our client to continue with his life, without having a conviction hanging over his head.

If not for the hard work and dedication of everyone at Oxford Lawyers our client may have not achieved such an excellent result. Our client was extremely thankful for the time, effort and professionalism that was put into his matter by Mr Khatiz and the entire team at Oxford Lawyers.
