NOT GUILTY - Client charged with Supplying Cocaine

Police were driving when they observed our client crossing the road.

Police pulled their car over and spoke with our client, informing him that he matched the description of a person involved in a robbery offence that occurred nearby.

Our client denied the allegations, however police remained suspicious that our client was involved in the armed robbery.

Police searched our client. Upon searching our client, police located a mobile phone, cash and numerous resealable plastic bags, each containing a white crystalline substance.

Police seized the mobile, money and all of the white crystalline substance.

Upon searching the mobile, police found text messages that appeared to suggest the selling of prohibited drugs. Police also observed photographs that appeared to show our client holding a large sum of money along with photos that appeared to show our client holding and smoking a rolled joint of cannabis.

Our client was conveyed to Parramatta Police Station and charged with the following offences:

  1. Supply Prohibited Drug under Section 25(1) of the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985

The maximum penalty for this offence is Imprisonment — 15 Years imprisonment and a $22,0000 fine.

  1. Deal with property proceeds of crime under Section 193C(2) of the Crimes Act 1900.

The maximum penalty for this offence is 3 years imprisonment.

Considering the seriousness of the charges, our client was extremely nervous about the possibility of going to jail. Fortunately our client called Oxford Lawyers and retained Criminal Defence Solicitor, Asem Taleb.

Mr Taleb believed in our clients rights and took the matter to a Defended Hearing at Parramatta Children’s Court.

Thanks to Mr Taleb’s preparation, knowledge of the law and dedication to his client’s well-being, the Magistrate ruled in favour of our client, finding him Not Guilty and dismissing all of the charges!

Our client could not have been happier with the result as he was able to win his Defended Hearing and continue on with his life without these charges impacting his life.
