On a Saturday night, Police were conducting a pro-active patrol within the Ryde area. The police stopped our client’s vehicle to conduct a random breath test. Our client forgot his licence and was not able to produce his licence to the police. Our client reached across the passenger seat to grab his bag, where the police questioned him in relation to a bag containing cannabis. Our client told the police it was Marijuana, police weighed the marijuana to be 8.29grams. The police then conducted a search of the car and found a taser in the driver’s side door compartment. The police also located Xanax tablets inside our client’s bag.
Our client was charged with one count of possess prohibited weapon under section 7(1) of the Weapons Prohibited Act 1998 and two counts of possess prohibited drug under section 10(1) of the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985.
Our client contacted Oxford Lawyers and wisely retained Mr Zemarai Khatiz, Principal Solicitor and Accredited Criminal Lawyer Parramatta. Mr Khatiz represented our client at Burwood Local Court. Due to Mr Khatiz’ compelling arguments the magistrate did not convict our client and was placed on a good behaviour bond.
Due to no conviction being recorded, our client’s future is not hampered and he was able to continue his employment. Our client expressed gratitude towards Mr Khatiz and the team at Oxford Lawyers.
