Our client was involved in speeding and getting pulled over for doing 108km/hr in an 80km/hr zone. Whilst the police were speaking to him he was sweating profusely and looked nervous. The police did a roadside oral fluid drug test. The drug test came back with a positive reading to Methamphetamine (Ice).
Our client was arrested and cautioned for a secondary oral fluid sample. Police searched the car and found an ice pipe in a pencil case. Police then searched him and found 0.9g of Crystal Methamphetamine and 0.4g of methamphetamine resin in his phone case. He was taken to North Sydney Police Station
Our client was charged with two counts of Possess Prohibited Drug under the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985 s10(1). If found guilty, he was facing a possible convicted for drug possession our client could be facing imprisonment, fine of $2200. This was his first time ever in Court and he was very scared of the process and its impact on his visa.
Shortly after the arrest, our client contacted Oxford lawyers. Fortunately he had heard of Mr Zakaria dedications and accredited skills as a criminal defence lawyer. Our client pleaded guilty and Mr Zakaria made convincing submissions to the Manly Local Court that in turn gave a favourable outcome with a good behaviour bond for 18 months.
Our client was delighted by the outcome as it met his exact demands. He is looking forward to getting his life back on track and continuing to provide for his family.
