Client Charged with Supplying 294 Grams of Cocaine – Bail Granted!

Our client was monitored by Strike Force Raptor. Police stopped and our client while he was driving where he was subjected to a search.

During the search, police located a plastic bag containing a white substance under the front passenger seat which contained cocaine.

Police placed our client under arrest where he was then conveyed to Granville Police Station.

The bag was analysed and contained approximately 294.4 grams of cocaine.

Our client was refused bail and charged with: Supply Prohibited Drug under Section 25(2) of the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985

The Maximum penalty for this offence 20 years imprisonment with a non-parole period of 10 years along with a fine of $385,000.

While in jail, our client contacted Oxford Lawyers and retained Principal Solicitor and Accredited Criminal Law Specialist Mr Zemarai Khatiz.

On behalf of our client, Mr Khatiz applied for bail and appeared at Burwood Local Court where he made strong submissions and proposed strict bail conditions to satisfy the ‘bail concerns’ pursuant to Section 17 of the Bail Act 2013.

In light of Mr Khatiz’s submissions and the proposed bail conditions, the Magistrate granted our client bail!

This was a terrific result for our client as he was able to leave jail and be in the company of his family.
