Client charged with possession of prohibited drug – No Conviction

On a Tuesday morning at 4am our client’s house was broken into. Police were called and attend the scene in order to examine the house. During a Crime Scene examination of the premises police located 112 grams of cannabis in our client’s bedroom.

Our client was subsequently interviewed and fully admitted to possession of the cannabis. He stated that cannabis was only for personal use and he wasn’t going to sell it.

Our client was charged with possession of drugs under Section 10 (1) of the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985. Due to serious nature of the offences, our client was faced with the prospect of a significant sentence.

Our client contacted Oxford Lawyers and wisely retained Lisa Dao who provided submissions at Parramatta Local Court. Due to Lisa’s compelling arguments our client only received 12 months of good behaviour bond with no conviction.

Due to no conviction being recorded, our client’s future is not hampered and is able to continue to work at their current job, as it required him to be convict free. Our client expressed gratitude towards Lisa and the team at Oxford Lawyers.
