Oxford Lawyers Criminal lawyers Parramatta – Criminal Lawyers Sydney
Our client was driving when he was stopped by police for a random breath test.
Police requested to see our clients drivers licence.
Upon review police detected that the licence was suspended.
Further checks were conducted and police discovered that our client had unpaid fines and the licence was by way of demerit points suspended.
Our client made admissions to knowing he had unpaid fines,
Police issued our client with a Field Court Attendance Notice and he was charged with Driving a motor vehicle while suspended under Section 54(3)(A) of the Road Transport Act 2013
The Maximum penalty for this offence is 6 months imprisonment along with a fine of $3300 and an additional licence suspension for 6 months.
Fortunately our client was referred to Oxford Lawyers where he retained Criminal Defence Solicitor Mr Zahir Zakaria.
Mr Zakaria prepared extensively for our client and appeared in the Parramatta District Court to appeal the Local Court conviction and the disqualification.
Mr Zakaria made outstanding submissions in favour of our client and persuaded the Judge to place our client on a good behaviour bond without a conviction.
This meant that the charge was not on our clients criminal record and he was able to keep his licence and continue his employment!
Our client was ecstatic about the result and thanked Mr Zakaria and the Oxford Lawyers team for their dedication and hard work.
