BAIL GRANTED – Client charged with possession of 3 firearms, ammunition and stolen goods

We represented a client who was charged with possession of 3 unauthorised and unregistered firearms, ammunition without holding licence/permit/ authority and stolen goods in the form of a Police Jacket.
The firearms included a pump action 12 gauge Bentley shot gun with a shortened/modified stock, a small pistol and another shot gun, a bag of shotgun rounds which contained 12 gauge Winchesters and 12 gauge Royal Buck rounds, and a Police Jacket.
Our Principal, Mr Zemarai Khatiz, an Accredited Specialist by the Law Society in Criminal Law made a Bail Application at Parramatta Local Court. He made strong and persuasive submissions as to why bail should be granted. Mr Khatiz convinced the magistrate that in all of the circumstances bail should be granted and not refused.
Result: Bail GRANTED under strict conditions.This is a very serious offence, and it is an excellent result considering the maximum jail sentence.
